Dr. Valerio Salomon is a Professor of Industrial Engineering at UNESP (Sao Paulo State University) Brazil. He obtained his Ph.D. in Engineerin from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 2004 and his B.Sc. and . M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering respectively from the Federal University of Itajuba (UNIFEI) in 1994 and 1998. He did his Post-doc in Decision Making at the University of Pittsburgh (PITT), U.S.A. in 2007. Dr. Salomon has taught many courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in industrial engineering. Some of the courses taught are multiple criteria decision making, production management, production planning and control, quality management, supply chain management, and workshops on industrial engineering. He focuses his research on practical applications of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), Fuzzy Sets, and other decision-making tools. He has published several journal articles, most of them in reputable international journals. Dr. Salomon is a member of Association for Operations Management (APICS), Brazilian Association on Industrial Engineering (ABEPRO), and International Society of Multiple Criteria Decision Making. He is Annals of Management Science’s (AMS’s) Deputy Editor for Special Issues & Symposium. He is also on the Editorial Board of many reputable international journals. Dr. Salomon is a consultant to some organizations.
